Historic England documenting life in crisis
Historic England has launched a campaign to document people’s experiences of lockdown in the south west.
The new project 'Picturing Lockdown' idea came from old photos of burned-out buildings during the Second World War. Now the organization wants to record our collective experience of the covid crisis.
It's asking for pictures of people’s individual lockdown life - anything from cooking in the kitchen to cutting your own hair. Fifty of the best images will be selected on their website and in the archive after the closing date on Wednesday 13 May.
Becky Barratt from Historic England says: “We want to know what lockdown has been, and felt like for households across the South West, and the images could be anything from working at the kitchen table juggling work with home schooling”
Photographs can be uploaded onto the Historic England Twitter feed using the hashtag picturing lockdown.
