Late-night crash leaves two hour
A man is in hospital with life-threatens injuries following a crash in Torquay in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A 2013 BMW 3 series saloon was the only vehicle involved in the incident around 12.50 a.m. on King's Drive in the town.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue sent one fire appliance from Torquay and one from Paignton. Because of the nature of the collision, with someone trapped in the car, they sent for a heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor.
The front-seat passenger sustained minor injuries, but the driver was flown by air ambulance to Derriford Hospital.
The road reopened after a forensic investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information regarding it – in particular any dashcam footage is asked to call police on 101 quoting log number 28 of 21 February.
