    Police still investigating sex assault suspect

    Police investigating a Devon nursery worker for suspected sexual offences against children - have applied for their bail to be extended again.

    The offences allegedly took place at Jack and Jill Childcare in Torquay last year - which has now closed.

    More than a hundred families who had children at the nursery have been contacted as part of the investigation.

    In a statement, police said: “The investigative team remain in liaison with Crown Prosecution Service around the offences alleged within Jack and Jill Childcare, Torquay, during 2019. 

    “Police have applied for a further three month bail extension which is currently with Her Majesty’s Court and Tribunal Service for consideration.

    "We expect a decision in early February. Until then, the suspect remains on police bail with strict conditions.”
