Police commissioner tackles supermarkets over cheap alcohol

Devon and Cornwall's police and crime commissioner is meeting representatives of major supermarket chains today.. to discuss sales of cheap alcohol and its link to anti-social behaviour and violence.

Research carried out in the force area has confirmed a shift in drinking patterns, with many people 'pre-loading' at home before going to bars and clubs.

Tony Hogg says he won't be lecturing the retailers, but hopes they'll play their part in developing a joined-up approach to the problem of alcohol-related crime.
