A man had to be rescued by Exmouth's inshore lifeboat earlier after getting cut off by the tide at Lympstone - and then finding himself in further difficulties.
The man in his 20s had been walking from Exmouth when he got into difficulty this morning.
He climbed into a small abandoned boat to try and reach a safer area but the boat began to sink.
He was found and brought to safety after calling for help on his mobile phone.
