Teams help with devastation
ShelterBox, which based in Truro, has sent emergency teams to the Caribbean following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa.
Catastrophic winds and flooding have left thousands displaced, prompting an urgent fundraising appeal from the charity.
ShelterBox plans to provide vital aid such as tents, water, blankets, and tarpaulin to those affected.
The death toll continues to rise with 30 confirmed deaths across Jamaica and Haiti, and experts say the storm is worse than Hurricane Katrina.
Head of Emergency Responses at ShelterBox, Dave Raybould says: "Communication networks are widely affected, so having a team in Jamaica will make it easier to understand the true extent of the damage and what people need most.
You can donate to the urgent fundraising appeal to support their efforts.
