Two other people were injured in the incident
A woman is fighting for her life in hospital, following a crash which closed the A38 earlier this morning [23 October].
Police say it happened at around 11.15am, when her car stopped in the central reservation near Kennford with a flat tyre and was reportedly hit by another.
The driver of the second car suffered serious injuries, whilst the child passenger has been airlifted to Southampton hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening or changing
In a statement officers said they were "unsure if the car had been hit or involved in collision with reservation" and that families had been made aware.
The A38 has now re-opened in both directions.
