Bicton College to open a zoo

The college is currently applying for a zoo licence.

The idea is to give students who'll be working in animal tourism some experience of dealing with the public - as well as offering a new visitor attraction.

There won't be large dangerous species like tigers and bears, but visitors will be able to see plenty of small mammals, reptiles and amphibians, birds and farm animals.

The attraction is expected to open later this year.
