Five flood alerts issued for Devon
The Environment Agency has issued five flood alerts as heavy rain and strong winds continue to hit Devon today (18th December 2018).
They include the area around the Rivers Axe, Sid, Otter, Teign and Exmouth, as well as South Coast of Devon from Seaton all the way to Start Point.
We're under a Met Office Yellow Warning for rain until 9 o clock tonight. Meanwhile, the Sea Front in Torquay has now reopened after being closed earlier in the afternoon.
The Met Office say: Rain, heavy at times, on Tuesday giving difficult driving conditions. Windy too, especially in coastal areas.
What to expect
- Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely.
- Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer.
- Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer.
