Everyone safe at Finlake
A tree has fallen on a chalet at a Devon holiday park.
Fire crews were called around dawn on Wednesday morning, when the tree came down around 4.30 a.m. at Finlake Holiday Resort near Chudleigh.
Everyone was accounted for and no-one is reported hurt. The fire crew from Bovey Tracey made the scene safe using tape and isolated the utilities.
Finlake is run by Haulfryn Holidays and is set in woodland near Newton Abbot. The company says: "“Our thoughts first and foremost are with those directly affected. We are thankful that no-one was injured and we are assisting the occupants of the lodges to ensure they have the support they need.
“Our tree surgeon has identified that the tree had damaged roots due to a fungal infection, something which is not identifiable during our routine checks and inspections. We have carried out an urgent inspection of trees in the vicinity as a precaution and understand this to be an isolated incident.”
