Man has head injuries
A serious collision between a tractor and a VW Golf has left the car driver in hospital with head injuries, and police investigating whether a crime has been committed.
The incident at around 4.20pm on Sunday on the main A3079 Okehampton to Holsworthy road at Cookworthy Moor at Halwill led to lengthy tailbacks. Police have thanked other motorists for their patience and asked for witnesses and anyone with webcam to come forward. They would particularly like to speak with two motorcycle riders who passed the scene moments before the collision.
Officers from the roads policing team attended along with a forensic collision investigator and scene of crime officer. A full investigation of the scene took place and officers are working to establish the exact cause. The driver of the Golf, in his 50s, was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
