Some teenagers given alcohol by parents
Seaton and Sidmouth Neighbourhood Police team mounted an underage drinking operation during the recent Seaton and Colyton carnivals.
The alcohol pictured is what they seized from 14 to 17 year olds, and it will all go down the drain. Writing on Facebook, Sergeant Andy Squires said: "Officers say they had to look after a succession of "comatose youths incapable of standing or looking after themselves and their personal possessions. This not only puts a child in a very vulnerable position, but ties a police officer up for a minimum of half an hour until either a parent or an ambulance arrives.
"We were disappointed to hear from some of the youngsters that the alcohol had been given to them by their parents. All the youths they spoke to were polite and respectful but they say that the message is clear - if you are under eighteen and planning to take alcohol to a carnival, don't bother! Have a good time at the fair, without alcohol."
The seized booze went down an East Devon drain, but before it met its demise, Sergeant Squires took the opportunity to line it up for an identity parade (pictured).
