Farms face new restrictions
Bird flu outbreaks have hit farms in Devon, leading to the culling of hundreds of birds.
Farmers and poultry keepers across Exmoor are now facing new restrictions.
A protection zone, roughly the size of 30 football pitches, is in place. An area near Dulverton is being closely monitored to try and contain the spread of the virus.
This confirmation comes just days after a case was confirmed near Winsford.
A poultry site at Minehead is also reportedly affected by the recent outbreaks.
The disease control zones legally require all poultry keepers, regardless of the size of their flock, to implement strict biosecurity measures and follow movement restrictions for poultry, eggs, and other related items.
The recent cluster of outbreaks in the region has raised concerns among local farmers and the wider poultry industry.
DEFRA urges all bird keepers to remain vigilant, maintain enhanced biosecurity, and report any signs of disease in their flocks without delay.
