Spot checks on school buses run by the Exeter firm Carmel Coaches - which has lost its operating licence - have so far found no serious safety defects.
Carmel can continue operating until the end of July .. even though its licence was revoked over safety concerns.
Devon county council began carrying out unannounced checks on the buses at schools yesterday... and says they will continue until the end of term, or until the transport can be provided by another operator.
