About five thousand tonnes of household waste are expected to be dealt with each year at a new recycling centre for Sidmouth, Ottery St Mary and the surrounding villages - which opens this morning.
The site replaces the old facility at nearby Woods Farm, all of whose staff have moved over.
The new centre has been designed to minimise traffic congestion and to be easy for people to use.
It's also got facilities for disposing of larger items and non-recyclable waste, and has and an area where re-useable household items can be sold.
