A group of Exeter residents and students are encouraging people to donate to the city's food bank in the run-up to Christmas.
In the last year, more than 4,580 people have used the food bank in Exeter, up 15% cent on the previous 12 months to 3,981.
The collections being held:-
St David’s – Wednesday 2nd December, outside St David’s station, from 4-7pm. Volunteers will be collecting food and singing carols.
St Thomas – Thursday 3rd December, Cowick Street, 5-7pm, as part of the lights switch on. Joe Levy, collection organiser, will be speaking before the switch on to publicise the collection.
Alphington – Sunday 6th December, outside Alphington Spar, 2.30-4pm. Volunteers will be collecting food and singing carols.
Heavitree – Saturday 12th December, Heavitree Pleasure Grounds, 4-5pm, as part of Parklife Heavitree’s Carol Singing event
Newtown – Sunday 13th December, Belmont Park Hut, from 6pm, as part of Newtown Community Association’s Winter Warmer event, with carol singing
