A man has suffered a punctured lung and fractured ribs after he was assaulted in Barnstaple.
Police were called to Queen Street at around 1.05am on Saturday 11 October following reports of a disturbance involving 12-14 young people.
When officers arrived, a victim who is in his early 20s, was found outside the Barum Takeaway.
It's thought he was set upon by a group, assaulted and kicked to the head while on the floor.
He was taken to hospital.
