Witnesses needed to fireworks' night assaults
A Plymouth man has been released on bail after being questioned about two incidents in which women were touched inappropriately in the city on the first night of the British Firework Championships.
One woman reported that she had been touched on the back on the Barbican side of the Sutton Harbour footbridge as she was waiting to cross on the evening of Wednesday 16 August. He then crossed the bridge and touched another woman inappropriately, before shoulder-barging into a third female.
The incidents took place some time between 9pm and 10.30pm.
Police are asking witnesses to call them on 101 quoting reference 50230224904.
A 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault and has been bailed until Friday 27 October.
