Three men are starting a jail sentence today for a robbery in Dawlish, in which a shopkeeper had ammonia sprayed in his face.
Neil Warner, who runs the town's Costcutter shop, was lucky not to lose the sight in his left eye after the attack in January.
The robbery was carried out by 36 year old Paul Rowntree from Dawlish and 28 year old Rikki Ward from Sunderland, who stole more than five thousand pounds from the till - 28 year old Ross Morton acted as their getaway driver.
Rowntree has been jailed for 19 years, Ward will serve 15 years and three months, and Morton has been given a three-year sentence for his lesser role in the robbery.
