During a visit to Exeter today, the Floods Minister has pledged to make sure Devon is better protected from flooding.
Phase one of the 32-million pound scheme was put to the test by Storm Angus last month.
Phase two is due to be completed in 2018.
Over the next six years, the government is investing 70 million pounds across the county for flood defence work.
