VIDEO: No time for full disciplinary process
Exeter University has kicked out 'a handful' of students for breaching isolation rules.
The university says "exclusion from the campus" is its strictest sanction, requiring offenders to return to their usual home.
Professor Tim Quine, who is vice-chancellor at Exeter, says the current situation means they can't let students they believe to have breached rules stay until they can be put through a full disciplinary process.
Students account for the majority of confirmed positive covid-19 cases in the city, which now has an infection rate two-and-a-half times the average for England.
