Exeter politicians are taking up a challenge to live without electricity for the whole of today.
Local councillors Rosie Denham and Adrian Fullam, and parliamentary candidates Diana Moore and Dom Morris won't be using their phones, cars, TVs or laptops - or any household appliance that uses a current.
They're among a group of people taking the Pull the Plug challenge organised by Exeter Community Energy - which is setting up the city's first community-owned solar power project.
Executive director Joe Smee says today's challenge is designed to focus people's minds on how much they depend on electricity.
