Investigations underway
A homicide investigation is underway following the death of a 60-year-old man on a cruise ship.
The incident occurred on the MSC Virtuosa while the ship was in British waters, shortly after its departure from Southampton for a two-night trip to Bruges.
It’s believed it happened after an alleged altercation on board on Saturday evening [3 May].
Police have arrested a 57-year-old man from Exeter on suspicion of murder, and he remains in custody.
Authorities believe this was an isolated incident and are asking any passengers with information to come forward.
In a statement, MSC Cruises said: "Following an incident on board our ship, the relevant authorities were contacted, and we are cooperating fully with their investigations.
