Passengers welcomed to £8 million facility
Small but perfectly formed, Exeter's new bus station has greeted its first passengers.
The £8 million facility on Bampfylde Street opened on Sunday, with the first bus departing at 4.45am.
Almost no one knows Bampfylde Street by name, but basically it's the road at the top and round the side of the old depot. And whilst the down-at-heel former station presented a poor impression of the city, its replacement is deserving of its place in Devon's capital city.
The bus station is operated by Stagecoach South West. Although final lockdown restrictions have lifted, they're asking passengers to continue wearing face coverings unless they're exempt.
