It closed part of Riviera Way
Two drivers have spent the night in police custody, after a crash closed the main road in to Torquay yesterday evening [1 September].
A section of Riviera Way was shut because of the collision at around 8.40pm.
The pair, who were “fortunately uninjured”, were reportedly arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
In a statement, police said: "A 37-year-old man from Torquay was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in police custody at this time.
A 51-year-old woman from Bristol was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. She also remains in police custody at this time."
