Fire crews are warning that motorists in Cranbrook are blocking emergency access. Those who park inconsiderately risk having their vehicles forcibly removed if they're causing an obstruction.
The fire service says it's increasingly concerned that its appliances wouldn't be able to get through some roads in an emergency when every second counts.
Officers are urging Cranbrook residents to leave room for a fire engine or ambulance, leaving extra room near tight corners.
Problem areas in the town include Seven Acres, Yarlington Mill and Avocet Meadow.
Concerns were also raised recently about vehicles blocking emergency access in many narrow residential streets in Exeter.
