A new report has identified several 'pockets of rural deprivation' in Devon.
Plymouth and Torbay were named among the most deprived districts in the south west - but in this area, Mid-Devon came out worse than Exeter, Teignbridge and East Devon.
The assessment is based on factors including income, affordability of housing, crime, health and access to services.
Nora Corkery from Devon Communities Together says problems of this kind are often underestimated.
