He's been charged with sexual assault
A serving Devon and Cornwall Police officer will appear in court later this week charged with a sexual offence reported to have taken place at the force's headquarters.
PC Simon Mitchell, who's 41 and from Bideford, has been suspended since he was arrested last September.
He wasn't on duty at the time of the alleged offence.
The officer will appear before Exeter Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
