A ferryman from Brixham won £60, 000 on New Year's Eve, along with two neighbours who won £30, 000 each.
Their postcode came up on the People's Post code lottery on the final day of 2017. Steve, from Copythorne Close, doubled his prize by playing with two tickets. Speaking after his big money win, Steve said:
"We've been planning a big extension for a year and we had to remortgage the house to do it, so this win will help a lot.
"We'll go on a nice holiday too. Donna and I have both said how we would like to visit India."
Steve's neighbour Ria, a self employed therapeutic worker, also managed to scoop £30, 000. Ria has three sons, and she says winning such a large amount of money is a great way to start the new year.
"It's wonderful to win with other people on the street," she said.
"We have lived here for eight years and it's such a close-knit community. We are really wanting to do up the house, and this will be the final piece of the jigsaw."
Television presenter Danyl Johnson visited both houses and awarded them a cheque. A third winner on the street was unable to receive the cheque on the day.
