Continuing improvements in household recycling rates have put Devon among the three best-performing counties in the country.
Residents currently recycle 55 per cent of their waste, and the county council is aiming to raise that to 65 per cent by 2025.
Of the districts, Teignbridge is 2nd best in Devon.
The district council's recycling officer Ben Bryant says it's a myth that some of the contents of recycling bins end up in landfill.
