Privacy concerns mean NHS must rethink automatic 'opt-in' process for medical records
Devon's healthwatch group has helped delay a controversial national medical records database.
There was concern that patients would be automatically opted into the new system, unless they told the NHS they didn't want to.
The NHS had sent leaflets to all households explaining the change, but research by the national Healthwatch organisation found few people were aware of it.
