Delays heading towards Plymouth
Fire crews have been tackling a crane fire on the westbound stretch of the A38.
Emergency services were called shortly before 8am to the road between Plympton and Efford.
Two lanes on the eastbound side had to be closed because of the smoke, but they've since reopened.
National Highways says there was a "substantial spillage from the fire." Work is underway to remove the crane.
Plymouth Highways is advising motorists to leave the A38 at Deep Lane, turn right and head towards the Marsh Mills junction before rejoining.
