Small projects to make communities across Devon more resistant to flooding could benefit from Government funding.
The county council says it's going to bid for a share of a five million pound 'Community Pathfinder' fund announced by DEFRA.
Separate bids will be drawn up for funding from a different pot of cash.. the 120 million pounds announced at the end of last month.
Councillors hope that'll provide six million pounds towards Exeter's improved flood defences.
