Various categories for cash prizes
Here's your chance to turn a £100 entry fee into a prize of about £7,000. The World Scrabble Championships are coming to Devon and entry is open to all.
You'll be taking the title off 2017 Australian winner David Eldar, who seized the title in Nottingham. Previous world championships have been held in Nigeria, New Zealand, Canada, the US and Thailand. It's sponsored by Mattel, who make the eponymous board game.
Junior players under 21 can enter a separate championship for £60.
The Riviera International Centre at Torquay is hosting the event from Tuesday 23 to Sunday 28 October. Adults are entered in one or two divisions, depending on ability - but you can take a risk as a beginner and go into division one if you wish.
Other categories include parents vs children and boys vs girls. To prevent injury, there's a World Scrabble Championship warm up on the Tuesday.
