The diesel tank split sending a running fuel fire down the road
Fire crews were called to Parkers Farm Holiday Park, in Newton Abbot, yesterday (Wednesday 10th November) after a van went up in flames.
Ashburton fire station was called to the incident.
Sharing the news on Facebook, Buckfastleigh Fire Station wrote: "On arrival the crews discovered the vehicle had now rolled down a slope and come to a stop at the top of the hill, the diesel tank then split sending a running fuel fire down the road which had to be dealt with as a priority.
"The officer in charge called for assistance and we were mobilised.
"The fire was quickly extinguished but an amount of diesel and engine oil was found to be entering a local stream via the drain network so the officer in charge requested the service environmental protection unit whilst having crews divert and filter the run off entering the drians."
