Local MP Ben Bradshaw is reporting that "urine is pouring" into his House of Commons office.
The liquid is said to be coming through the ceiling and, according to Mr. Bradshaw on Twitter, has been dripping for two days.
He later tweeted that "it stinks".
An aide told BBC News: "The whole office smells of urine."
"The House authorities claim it's water that's just a bit stagnant, but the whole office smells of urine, basically. They are doing some work on the toilets upstairs."
