New equipment for West Exe rec
Tiverton children rejoice! You're getting £75,000 of new kit and improvements to the play are at West Exe Recreation Ground.
On the downside, you won't be able to hang out there for a month or so. It's having to shut whilst the work is done. But good things come to those who wait.
All the existing equipment is due to be replaced and new safety matting will also be installed.
There's kit for toddlers; stuff for teens. And they're improving access for people who have extra needs. Equipment includes spinners, multi-use play frames, carousels and swings in a range of styles depending how terrified you want to be.
Cllr Dennis Knowles, cabinet member for property services at Mid Devon District Council said: “This is a popular park and this new equipment will be a great addition to the area. The images of what the recreation ground will soon look like show a fantastic upgrade to the park, which I am sure will be welcomed by the families and visitors in our community.”
The park closes on 14 September for about four weeks for the transformation.
