Death is unexplained
A teenager has died unexpectedly in Barnstaple, promoting police to launch an investigation.
The body of a young man, described as being in his late teens, was found in Howard Avenue, Barnstaple, at around 7.20 a.m. on Thursday morning [8 December].
Formal identification has yet to take place but next of kin have been informed.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw anything of note in the area of the walkway between the B&M store in Coney Avenue and the river, between 10 p.m. on Wednesday 7 December until 7 on Thursday morning.
A police presence and cordon will remain at the scene for the foreseeable future.
