Dishonest cop can't work for police again
A special constable with Devon and Cornwall Police has been thrown out of the service for lying about his behaviour nearly three years ago.
James Warren faced allegations that he breached the standards of honesty and integrity expected of the police in November 2018.
He'd provided a dishonest account on a vetting appeal about allegations of his previous conduct.
Following a two-day public hearing, a misconduct panel sacked him without notice.
Mr Warren details will now go on the College of Policing Barred List, preventing him from working in policing again.
Head of professional standards Detective Superintendent Paul Kessell said: "Through his actions, the officer undermined the public’s trust and confidence in the police force and did not fulfil his duties and responsibilities.
“Such behaviour will not be tolerated within policing and the decision made by the independent chair is that the officer is dismissed without notice.”
