Work begins today to restore the level of shingle on Sidmouth's main beach...which was depleted during last year's winter storms.
East Devon district council has successfully applied for Government funding for the beach restoration, which is expected to take about six weeks.
It will mean sections of the beach being closed while heavy machinery is used to redistribute shingle that's accumulated at the western end of the beach.
There won't be enough to restore East Beach as well - but shingle is starting to return there naturally.
