Nurses in Devon want more involvement in looking after people detained in police custody.
They'd like to see it adopted as national policy, saying this would improve the health and safety of people in police or court cells.
Local members of their union, the Royal College of Nursing, are attending its conference, starting today.
They'll be calling on the union to lobby the Government on the issue.
