Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau has reported a rise in debt problems.
This financial year, the overall debt burden faced by people coming for help has risen by 28 per cent.. they owe an average of more than 12 thousand pounds.
The number of enquiries about welfare benefits is up by 12 per cent, and the CAB expects a further increase when changes to council tax support comes in in April.
