Blaze under control
Fire crews from across Devon are tackling a massive blaze at Keybury Park, Newton Abbot.
The fire service received at least 66 calls around 11.20 am on Sunday reporting a property on fire. Even after four hours, acrid smoke is billowing across the town and around the Penn Inn roundabout and South Devon Highway as attempted continue to bring the blaze under control.
One side of the building contains five flats, the other side houses a nursery, Ark in the Park, which overlooks Forde Park.
All floors are affected. It's a three-storey property. The blaze has gone through the roof space and into a neighbouring building.
Twelve fire engines are on site, 77 firefighters plus the area ladder platform. The incident is ongoing, but Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue say they now have the fire under control.
