A total of fifteen emergency crews have spent all night fighting a major fire in the Dunsford Hill area of Exeter.
It spread through two houses in Little Johns Cross Hill near Ide.
It broke out just after 8 o'clock last night, and initial crews came from as far as Crediton, Exmouth and Honiton. A further 8 appliances joined later, along with specialist equipment including foam jets, longer ladders and breathing apparatus.
The fire spread over two floors of both properties. Back up crews came from Torbay, Okehampton, Totnes, Cullompton, Wellington Torrington and Newton Abbot
It's not clear whether the buildings were occupied at the time and if anyone needed hospital treatment. The stability of the buildings and initial investigation work into what caused the fire will be taking place this morning
