Some residents of Kennford whose homes were flooded won't be able to occupy them again for months.
As well as the problems caused by the water itself, there was pollution from heavy oil from a workshop which got into the flood water, along with sewage.
Teignbridge council is working closely with the community to help ensure that no-one is homeless and help with the continuing clean-up work.
