Exeter Red Coat Guides celebrate 30th anniversary

Exeter’s Red Coat Guides are celebrating their 30th anniversary with the launch of their new Summer Tour Programme starting on Easter Sunday.

As well as new tours, there are another fourteen tours to choose from including ‘Medieval Exeter’, ‘Ghosts and Legends’, ‘Roman & Saxon Exeter’ and the ever popular ‘Canal Trip’ (June – August).

Free tours operate every day and depart from outside the West Front of the Cathedral, whilst a smaller number of tours depart from outside the Custom House Visitor Centre on Exeter’s Quayside. There is no need to book, simply pick a tour, meet your guide, and enjoy discovering a hidden side to Exeter.

“We’re extremely proud of these volunteers who give up their valuable time to entertain residents of, and visitors to, Exeter with tales about our fascinating city”, said Dave Adcock, Visitor Attractions Manager. “The Red Coat Guides are fantastic ambassadors for the city and their level of knowledge is astonishing”, she said.
