A series of exhibitions begins today on the design of the second phase of the 30-million pound initiative.
The first phase, which contractors are preparing for now, will be to increase the capacity of the main flood channel.
The second phase will involve building new walls and barriers, and raising banks, between Cowley and Countess Weir.
Designs for the structures are still being finalised.
The proposals are on show at Exeter Guildhall today, the museum tomorrow, and at the X Centre on the Quay on July 19th.
