Exeter City re-sign Kane Wilson on loan

"I'm happy to be back. Once a Grecian, always a Grecian,” says the 18-year-old defender  

Wilson spent the majority of last season on loan at St James Park. During his spell with the Grecians, the youngster made 22 appearances and scored his first goal in senior football in a 2-1 victory over Barnet.  
 

This year, Kane has set his sights on going one better because he knows how much it would mean to the supporters. 
 

“When I was at Exeter City last time it was a really fond spell that I look back on,” he told the clubs website. “Getting so close to going up and not going up, I now know how much it means to everyone there and how much they want it. It is definitely unfinished business for me and I am coming back there ready.”

The defender admits that he didn't need much convincing to re-sign for Exeter once he knew they were interested. “As soon as the opportunity came up, I wanted to jump on it,” he added. “I have been there before and I know the club and I know the fans and I know how much Exeter City means to them. Getting the chance to go back is a great opportunity for me. I spoke to Matt (Taylor) and I am buzzing.”

Exeter City's manager added that Kane will add competition for places on the right-hand side and it was a big plus that he has had a spell on loan at the club before. 

“He knows the club and he knows the way we train so things will be familiar, so we are not working with a totally new player. We are looking forward to getting him involved. It is another player who has got good physical attributes and he will add competition for places."

Wilson will stay with the Grecians until the end of the season.
