Council says jellyfish invasion not dangerous to humans (but probably best not to pick them up)
Teignbridge council says jellyfish that have been washed up at Dawlish Warren and Coryton Cove aren't harmful to humans when they sting.
Swarms of barrel jellyfish have appeared around the shoreline over recent days. The council wants people to report any sightings so they can be removed. A number of the stingy creatures came have come ashore on Exmouth beach this week. The Marine Conservation Society has also asked people to tip it off about sightings of basking sharks - which are also not dangerous.
