19 people have died at work in the South West in twelve months, a rise of 46 per cent on the year before.
The figures are released today by the Health and Safety Executive and cover the year ending March 2015.
The health and safety executive claim this is the tip of the iceberg and represents only one per cent of the number of people who die as a result of their employment.
The statistics for the South West don't take into account deaths that are caused by disease, travelling on a public highway, violence at work and those in the armed forces.
